I first met Katie and Mark in August last year over a fab cuppa at one of my most favourate venues, Launde Abbey in Leicestershire – their wedding reception will be held in Launde’s grounds in a stunning marquee on 15 June this year. Nick at Launde Abbey had recommended me to them after covering Michaela and Matt’s stunning wedding there.
Within minutes into our first face-to-face we were laughing and enjoying every moment of discussing their plans for their special day. Katie & Mark really are a charming couple both inside and outside – I am very fortunate to be covering their wedding day with them. Located in London, Katie an architect and Mark a sports photographer, they are real people-people with great sense of humours too.
Katie and Mark’s friends and families sound delightful, I just know, from their stories of their friends and their characters, whom incidently some are flying in from all corners of the globe, that this is going to be a very special wedding!
Today, I met Katie and Mark at Rutland Water’s stunning and unique church, where I had covered Sarah and Marc’s wedding in November last year. It was raining relentlessly, windy and very cold but that did not dappen Katie and Mark’s spirits. We started the shoot over a nice cuppa at Normanton Park Hotel to warm our spirits further.
Katie and Mark did not have long as they had planned a ‘Full to the Brim’ day comprising of some other exciting wedding preparation ‘To Dos’; dress fitting for Katie at Rococo in Melbourne, Derby, with Mark armed with other wedding planning duties and hoping to finally sit down to the English-Wales Rugby match at 5pm, so it was full steam ahead so that I could capture them in their three chosen, locations!
The capture of Katie below is one of my most favourates – we were really wet and cold by the time we had walked onto the church from Normanton Park Hotel but I knew that by using a couple of my prime lenses, that just soak up the light, their images would not reflect a rainy day.
Well done Katie and Mark, you were brilliant!
A few more images to come so please call back within a day or so – Gina
